University of Nebraska-Lincoln President, Jeff Gold, is set to appear in Alliance on Friday, July 25 as part of his statewide tour.
He is set to take part in an Alliance community coffee starting at 8 a.m. on Friday. The event will be hosted by Alliance Chamber Executive Director, Cassielien VanKerrebrook. It is set to take place at the West Side Event Center, 2472 County Road 62, Alliance.
Gold is visiting a variety of areas around the cornhusker state "to engage in conversations about the future of the university and how it can support a robust and thriving Nebraska," according to the University of Nebraska System website. The busy schedule follows last year's tour that Gold was a part of, shortly after he became the ninth president of the University of Nebraska.
This year's tour began in Norfolk, where Gold talked with leaders in education and around the Norfolk community. The visit to Alliance will be part of a busy leg of the tour this week, with Gold being scheduled in Peru, Chadron and some other areas as well.
