A Chadron man was found dead in an apartment.

On April 2 at approximately 9:30 a.m. the Chadron Police Department and Dawes County Attorney/Coroner investigated the death of 27 year-old Dylan Shoemaker of Chadron.

Shoemaker was found unresponsive in his apartment by a family member.

"The preliminary investigation of the scene and witness interviews do not indicate foul play," Dawes County Attorney/Coroner Vance Haug said. "An autopsy and toxicology screening has been ordered to be completed in Scottsbluff. The investigation into the specific cause of death continues at this time. Further details may be released when appropriate."

Haug is asking anyone who has information about Shoemaker's death to contact the Chadron Police Department at (308) 432-0510.
