Another round of severe weather hit Western Nebraska Sunday afternoon. Severe thunderstorm warnings were issued for Scottsbluff and Sioux counties along with Goshen county, Wyoming around 3:45 pm MT. The storms moved east/northeast around 30- 40 mph. A tornado warning was issued for Scottsbluff and Sioux county around 5:20 pm MT with radar indicated rotation. No reports of any funnel clouds.
Thunderstorm warnings were also issued for Morrill, Kimball, Cheyenne, Garden and Sheridan counties. Very little rainfall has been reported, but strong gusty winds toppled center pivots and some power outages were reported in Box Butte County.
Wind gusts near 50 mph were reported at the Chadron Airport. The Alliance Airport reported a trace of rain and wind gusts up to 40 mph. The severe weather had moved out of the Panhandle by 8 pm MT. The forcast for the rest of the week calls for hot conditions Monday with possible record high temps in the upper 90's. The next chance of rain in the region is Tuesday night.
