On Tuesday evening at the Alliance City Council meeting, The Council appointed Monty J. Weisgerber to fill the vacant seat on the City Council.
Weisgerber takes over for Mara Anderson, former Alliance Recreation Center Executive Director. Alliance City Administrator Seth Sorensen explains the process of appointing a new councilmember.
"Two of the Councilmembers had some one-on-one interviews with the candidates, we reviewed the applications and decided amongst the council," Sorensen said.
Weisgerber begins his term immediately and will run until the November election.
