Private family graveside services for Melvin Wasserburger will be Saturday, January 23, 2021, at 1 p.m. at Montrose Cemetery.
Melvin was born November 5, 1959, in Crawford, Nebraska to William Dale and Henrietta Louise (Hoffmann) Wasserburger, the oldest of four children. He died Monday, January 11, 2021 at Ponderosa Villa Nursing home in Crawford.
Mel started his life in construction under the supervision of Guy Mason. Guy was his mentor and taught him a lot about life’s skills.
He moved to Bozeman, MT, where he owned his own janitorial business in the early 1980s. He moved back to Crawford in the 1990s. He suffered a stroke in 1996, which left him disabled.
The Office of Human Development became his caregiver for 17 years before moving to the Ponderosa Villa in 2014.
Melvin is survived by his siblings, Diane Marie (Kacey) Clark, Martin Wayne (Mary) Wasserburger, Marvin Wade (Lynn) Wasserburger; uncles Dallas (Enid) Wasserburger, and John Anderson; and aunt Mary Ann Miller; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father, Dale; mother, Henrietta; uncles, aunts, and cousins.
