Casino Royale brings Vegas flair to Bayard Depot Museum fundraiser

BAYARD — A little Las Vegas glitz and glamour is coming to Bayard on Saturday, Nov. 7, when the Bayard Depot Museum hosts its Casino Royale Vegas Sip & Sample fundraiser from 5 to 9 p.m.

The evening promises casino-style games, appetizers, cocktails and live music, all while raising money to support one of Bayard's historical treasures.

With a "Dress to Impress" theme, guests are encouraged to embrace the excitement and elegance of Las Vegas for an evening of entertainment and community fellowship.

Museum board member Tina Bauer said the success of changing the fundraiser's format last year encouraged organizers to continue offering something different.

"Changing things up last year was so well received that we decided to keep that momentum going this year," Bauer said. "We're excited to bring some fun, Vegas-inspired games to this year's event and give everyone another opportunity to get together, have a great time and support the museum."

But behind the glitz and glamour is a much more important purpose — supporting the preservation of Bayard's history.

The Bayard Depot Museum serves as a connection to the community's past, preserving and sharing the stories, photographs, artifacts and memories that tell the history of Bayard and the people who helped shape it. From the community's early beginnings to the generations of families, businesses and organizations that followed, the museum helps keep Bayard's heritage alive for future generations.

Operated by volunteers, the museum is generally open from Memorial Day through Labor Day, welcoming residents and visitors interested in learning more about the community's past.

Fundraisers such as Sip & Sample provide important support for the museum's continued operation and preservation efforts.

Tickets are on sale now for $20 each, giving attendees an opportunity to enjoy an evening of Vegas-inspired entertainment while helping preserve Bayard's history.

Tickets can be purchased at the Bayard City Office or Chimney Rock n’ Roll in downtown Bayard, or directly from museum board members John Schmall, Kris Henkel, Brenda Cook, Tina Bauer, Norm Kuxhausen and Wayne Kniss. Tickets will also be available at the door.

Organizers encourage residents to purchase their tickets in advance, invite a few friends and make plans for an evening of fun in support of the museum.

Mark your calendar for Saturday, Nov. 7, from 5 to 9 p.m. Dress to impress, enjoy a taste of Vegas and help keep Bayard's history alive for generations to come.
