Robert (Bob) LeRoy Walker, 98, passed away Thursday August 12, 2021 at Highland Park Care Center. He was born September 28, 1922 at Crawford, NE to William and Antoinette (Stiller) Walker.
On May 14, 1952 he was united in marriage to Betty Jean McKinney. After their marriage they lived on a farm south of Crawford before moving to Alliance in 1974. During his time here Bob served in the United States Navy from 1942 to 1946. After moving to Alliance, he worked for Neil Colerick as a mechanic, until he started working for RMC (Railcar Maintenance) until he retired. He had many interests. He restored a Model A and Model T; loved going treasure hunting with his metal detector; loved hunting and fishing; loved his pet squirrels; and loved tinkering in his shop.
He is survived by his children, Joleen Noxon (Fred Vanis) of Dwight, NE, Connie (Doug) Doeschot of Panama, NE, Bobby (Athena) Walker of Alliance and Brian (Marlene) Walker of Crawford, NE, his 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Debra Campbell, his sister, Jeannette Weidenhamer.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 18 at 10:00 a.m. at the Bates-Gould Chapel with Reverend Gary Belk officiating. Burial will be in the Nebraska Veterans Cemetery at Alliance. Visitation will be Tuesday, 1-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
