Our Lord Savior Jesus Christ called Jack Jay Fester to his home in heaven on September 17, 2021.
He was born to Glen and Lillian (Blyth) Fester on September 19, 1956 in Alliance, NE. Jack was the fourth child of nine growing up with his seven brothers and one sister. Jack graduated from High School in 1974. He started dating the love of his life, Ellen Adamson, in May of 1978. The couple was married in December of the same year and made their life together in Hemingford. Spending 43 happy years together, Jack and Ellen welcomed their first child in April of 1979. Through the next 12 years they welcomed five other children. His family was his pride and joy.
Other loves included reading, history, traveling with his family, woodworking, and working with his hands .At the time of his death he was semi-retired, subbing as a mail carrier when not working on projects of his own.
Jack was preceded in death by his oldest daughter Anna, his parents, nephew Cassidy Fester, his parent-in-laws, Everett and Rosalie, brother’s-in-law Craig Basden and Michael Adamson, sister’s-in-law Charlene Gartner, Loretta Randolph, and Laurie Davis.
He is survived by his wife Ellen, his daughter LaTosha, his son Jason (Erica) and his daughters, Celena(Spencer) Varga, Shauna and NaKaya, his three grandsons Eron, Terrell, and Adam, his two granddaughters, Jordan and Ramona Lee, and two great grandsons Santiago and CJ. He is also survived by his eight siblings, Roy, Jerry, Dennis, Edward, Ronald, Timothy, Betty, and Kenneth, and numerous other family members.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hemingford Community Federal Credit Union for the future use of Hemingford Public Schools.
Funeral services will be Thursday, September 23 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bridget Catholic Church with Father Matt Koperski officiating. Burial will be in the Hemingford Cemetery. A wake service will be Wednesday, September 22 at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1-5 p.m. at the Bates-Gould Funeral Home in Hemingford and at the wake service.
