Alliance Recreation Center (ARC) Board Members, Staff, Westco representatives, and local community members gathered to celebrate the successful completion of the resurfacing of the gymnasium floor and the installation of temperature control systems. This long-awaited project was made possible through the generous support of Westco, The Sherwood Foundation, The William and Ruth Scott Foundation, and the donors of the 2024 Make More Possible Campaign.

In April 2024, the Annual Make More Possible Campaign raised over $160,000, enabling the resurfacing of the 22-year-old gymnasium floor, as well as the addition of a temperature control system to ensure a safe and comfortable environment year-round. The funds also supported scholarships for ARC memberships and after-school programs.
As the only indoor recreation facility in Alliance, the ARC gymnasium is an essential space for the community, providing a wide range of activities for youth and adults alike. In 2024, over 1,500 participants used the gym for various sports and programs not including open recreation, including adult volleyball, pickleball, basketball, and youth activities such as indoor soccer, volleyball, basketball, and hockey. In total, ARC saw more than 74,000 visits in 2024, and awarded over $24,000 in scholarships, helping to ensure that individuals of all backgrounds have access to these valuable resources.
The ARC is committed to fostering a healthier community by improving access to indoor recreation. Greater access to these facilities contributes to long-term community health, and ARC’s scholarship program ensures that all individuals, regardless of socioeconomic status, can be a part of this vibrant space. The ARC Board of Directors extends its heartfelt thanks to all those who supported the campaign, helping to make these important upgrades a reality.
The 2025 Make More Possible campaign will kick off in April. This year’s goal is to raise $115,000, with funds aimed at providing scholarships for ARC after-school programs and memberships for all ages. In addition, the campaign will focus on addressing the need for 24/7 access to locker room facilities, including remodeling the locker rooms, added and upgraded access and security and adding infrared saunas to enhance the overall user experience and wellness.
The ARC Board of Directors is excited to take this next step in improving our facility for the community and we invite everyone to join us in supporting the campaign to continue making the ARC a welcoming, inclusive, and accessible space for all.
