KEARNEY, Neb. — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol have arrested one person after finding 12 pounds of suspected methamphetamine during a traffic stop on I-80.
Tuesday, at approximately 10:30 a.m., a trooper saw a Toyota Camry speeding at over 100 miles per hour on Interstate 80 near Kearney. During the traffic stop, the trooper became suspicious of criminal activity.
A search of the vehicle revealed 12 pounds of suspected methamphetamine hidden inside the body of the car. The driver, George Watson, 50-years-old, of Poplar Grove, Illinois, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession with intent to deliver, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was lodged in Buffalo County Jail.
