GERING, Neb. – Legacy of the Plains Museum is holding its 29th Annual Harvest Festival on Saturday, Sept. 20 and Sunday, Sept. 21. The event starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. on Sunday and costs $5 per person, with ages 12-years-old and under free.
Our featured crop this year is corn, and we have a great lineup of equipment to show.
Horse-powered demonstrations will feature prominently again in our show. We will have a variety of corn pickers, choppers and binders to demonstrate. Our static displays will also not disappoint as we have our main exhibit display, line of tractors and much more. Dairy King will have food available for purchase, and they will have their treats truck available to cool off with.
We would like to thank Simplot and WestCo for donating fertilizer. We also would like to thank Thompson Seed for the seed potatoes, Randy Kiesel for the hay bales for the fort and West Nebraska Seed and Chemical for the corn seed.
The festival is a family friendly event with free wagon rides, horses, tractors, equipment parade, pedal cars, bake sale, barrel trains, playground, farm animals, live music and great activities outside. The event will also have potatoes and food available for sale.
We would like to thank all of our sponsors: Big Iron, JG Elliott, Mark Chiropractic, Sandberg Implement, Riverstone Bank, Inland Truck Parts, Platte Valley Companies, B & C Steel, Anderson Shaw Construction, Wiedeman Financial, A & A Porta Potties, Twin City Roofing, Bluffs Physical Therapy, Roosevelt PPD and Tri-State G & T.\
