Chadron Community Hospital is proud to announce that they’ve received the Harvester Award for their Wellness program. They were honored with the award during the Panhandle Safety & Wellness Conference in Gering, NE on September 21, 2023. This award is for businesses that are reaping the benefits of an advanced wellness program, a developed wellness culture, and can demonstrate high-quality outcomes.

Each year the Nebraska Governor recognizes organizations across Nebraska for offering wellness programs in the workplace. These programs encourage team members to take steps toward a healthier lifestyle. Organizations are eligible for the Sower, Grower, or Harvester award level. Chadron Community Hospital is the first recipient of the Harvester award in the panhandle. This is the highest level awarded to employers that are reaping the benefits of an advanced wellness program and can demonstrate high-quality outcomes. Our Wellness committee is especially proud of this award considering the many challenges encountered with the pandemic. Despite the obstacles they were able to adapt and revise the program to a level worthy of this award.

“We are always so proud to work with these organizations to create environments supporting employee health and well-being. They’ve made marked strides towards the prevention of devastating and costly chronic diseases like diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and some types of cancer,” said Nicole Berosek, Organizational Wellness Coordinator
