CHADRON, Neb. - Chadron Hospital is proud to announce the successful completion of its annual Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) inspection, demonstrating the organization's continued commitment to providing safe, high-quality breast imaging services for the communities it serves.

The MQSA inspection is a comprehensive annual review overseen by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). During the inspection, every aspect of a mammography program is thoroughly evaluated to ensure compliance with rigorous federal standards designed to protect patients and maintain the highest level of care.

The inspection includes an extensive review of equipment performance, quality assurance programs, radiation dose levels, patient records, reporting processes and communication procedures. Inspectors also verify the qualifications and credentials of mammography technologists, interpreting radiologists and medical physicists involved in patient care.

"This inspection is an important validation of the quality and safety standards our team maintains every day," said Jodi Dannar, Director of Imaging Services at Chadron Hospital. "Breast cancer screening plays a critical role in early detection, and our patients can feel confident knowing that our mammography program meets the stringent requirements established by the FDA."

MQSA inspections are among the most detialed regulatory reviews conducted in healthcare imaging. Facilities that do not successfully meet federal standards are prohibited from performing mammography services and are ineligible to receive Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement for those services.

The successful inspection reflects the dedication of Chadron Hospital's imaging team and its ongoing investment in quality patient care, advanced technology and continuous improvement.

Chadron Hospital also encourages women to prioritize routine breast cancer screenings. Women who are age 40 and older, have no breast symptoms and are considered average risk may schedule their annual screening mammogram directly through Chadron Hospital without a physician's order.

"Regular mammograms remain one of the most effective tools for detecting breast cancer early, when treatment is often most successful," Dannar said. "We want to make it as easy as possible for women to access this important preventive service."
