Dawes County Sheriff Karl Dailey said that his office has received multiple calls from citizens concerned about scam phone calls.
The calls threaten citizens saying they will be arrested for failure to appear for jury duty unless they immediately pay a fine by phone.
Dailey said that this is a scam. He said the Chadron community should not take the threat seriously.
