Raymond Ray Stites, I passed away peacefully on Monday, October 31st, 2005 at the age of 69 after a long battle with cancer. He was at the Nashville Nursing and Rehab facility in Nashville, Arkansas.
Raymond was born April 18th, 1936 in Picher, Oklahoma. He was the son of Lewis and Emmy (Lafferty) Stites.
He enlisted in the Navy in 1955 where he served his country on the U.S.S. Kawishiwi. He served during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge in 1957.
Raymond spent many years in the Alliance area. He married Ruby Krueger, now O'Connor November 16, 1972. To this union, two children were born. The oldest being John Samuel and the youngest Raymond Ray II.
Raymond spent his time doing what he loved by serving his country, hunting, fishing and camping.
He is survived by his son, Raymond (Mindy) Stites of Alliance and Tommy Ray Brown of Oklahoma. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters. He was followed in death by his oldest son, John.
Memorial services will be Friday, September 24th at 1:30pm at the Veteran's Cemetery in Alliance, NE. Pastor Russell Saito will be officiating.
