Flood Advisory in effect for Sheridan County

FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 830 PM MDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of the Nebraska panhandle, including northwest

Sheridan county.

* WHEN...Until 830 PM MDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

Rises in small streams and normally dry creek beds.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

- At 631 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to

thunderstorms. Minor flooding is expected to begin shortly in

the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have

fallen.

- Some locations that will experience flooding include...

Metcalf State Wildlife Management Area, Intersection of

Highway 87 and Larabee Road and Pine Ridge.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

deaths occur in vehicles.
