LINCOLN, Neb. – The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) is seeking nominations for the 2026 Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month Awards.

For the third consecutive year, individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD) and members of the developmental disabilities community across Nebraska have the opportunity to nominate individuals, providers, community leaders and employers for one of four annual awards.

“DD Awareness Month Awards give the state the opportunity to spotlight the remarkable achievements, creativity and innovation of individuals and organizations making a difference. This is a time for all Nebraskans to come together, celebrate these extraordinary contributions and share stories that inspire. I invite you to join us in honoring those who go above and beyond to positively impact their communities by submitting a nomination,” said Tony Green, Director of DDD.

The nomination period for the 2026 DD Awareness Month Awards closes March 6, 2026. DHHS will select three winners per category. Winners will be announced after all recipients have received their award.
