By National Weather Service in Cheyenne, WY

Strong winds are expected to return to much of southeast Wyoming and the western Nebraska Panhandle today with widespread gusts 60-70 MPH expected.

Localized gusts in excess of 85 MPH are possible on the eastern slopes of the northern and central Laramie Range eastward into the I-25 corridor near Glendo, Wheatland, Bordeaux and Chugwater.

The strongest winds for most areas will occur this afternoon.

Those driving light weight and high profile vehicles including campers and tractor trailers should use extreme caution today.

In addition to the high winds, very dry conditions could lead to rapid fire growth should any new fire starts occur. Avoid burning of any kind.
