Lincoln – Linda Garey of Crawford won the final $50,000 top prize playing the Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer Scratch game from the Nebraska Lottery.

The winning ticket was purchased at Super C #3 at 3275 Sheridan Blvd. in Lincoln.
One of Garey’s grandsons purchased the winning ticket for her as a Christmas gift before heading out west for the family’s holiday celebration.
Garey said she’s a regular Nebraska Lottery player but this is the first time she’s won anything close to this amount.
After scratching the ticket, Garey and her grandsons went to the local gas station to make sure it was correct. It was and her grandkids helped her make the 450 mile trip from Crawford to Lincoln to cash in the winning ticket.
“Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer,” Garey said, looking at her grandson. “I’d say it’s an appropriate ticket.”
A $5 Scratch game, Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer offered players a chance to win prizes from a free $5 ticket to $50,000. The chances of winning $50,000 were one in 104,000, while the odds of winning any prize were one in 3.68.
The mission of the Nebraska Lottery is to generate proceeds for good causes while providing quality entertainment options to Nebraskans. Over $855 million has been raised for the Nebraska Lottery’s beneficiary funds since the Lottery began in 1993.
