GERING, NE – Aging Office of Western Nebraska (AOWN) is proud of announce the placement of their new Executive Director who will oversee the organization.
Penne Claussen of Mitchell, Nebraska, was officially hired as the Executive Director on September 17, 2027.
This position has been vacant since June of 2026. During that time, Claussen held the Interim Director role. She steps into the Executive Director role with over 20 years of experience in the human services field, including years at Region I and DHHS before coming to AOWN.
As the Executive Director, Claussen will oversee the entire organization, including planning and delivery of programming, leadership of agency staff, partnership with community organizations to strengthen resources, and advocacy for older adults in the area.
AOWN’s mission is to provide a comprehensive and coordinated service delivery system to assist elderly citizens and ensure they remain safe and independent in their own home and community,
