ALLIANCE, Neb. — The Alliance Chamber of Commerce is preparing for its annual Downtown Trick or Treat and Trunk or Treat celebration Friday, Oct. 30, with temporary street closures planned along Box Butte Avenue.
According to the Chamber, streets will begin closing at 1 p.m. Friday to accommodate the event. Parking will not be permitted along the 200 through 500 blocks of Box Butte Avenue.
The Chamber is asking downtown visitors and motorists to plan accordingly and thanked the community for its cooperation and support.
The annual Halloween event brings local businesses and families together in downtown Alliance. According to the Chamber's website, participating businesses decorate vehicles and distribute candy and promotional items to children.
Downtown businesses are also encouraged to decorate their storefronts, wear costumes and welcome trick-or-treaters.
The event provides families an opportunity to visit downtown businesses while participating in Halloween activities.
The Chamber lists the event on its official website but directs visitors to its Facebook page for specific event times and additional details.
Families planning to participate in Halloween activities elsewhere in Alliance are encouraged to check individual business and organization announcements for additional trick-or-treat opportunities and schedules.
