SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. - Step back in time with us as we celebrate the Midwest Theater’s 80th Anniversary by presenting the very first film ever shown on our screen — the iconic 1946 classic Gilda, starring Rita Hayworth and Glenn Ford. This special anniversary screening honors the moment our theater first came to life, inviting audiences to relive the magic exactly as it began eight decades ago.
In celebration of our anniversary year, 2026, tickets to this commemorative screening are just $26. Every ticket includes an exclusive 80th Anniversary Refillable Popcorn Bucket-created just for our anniversary- and a medium drink.
Johnny Farrell (Glenn Ford) is a small-time American gambler, newly arrived in Buenos Aires, Argentina. When he is caught cheating at a game of blackjack, Farrell manages to talk his way into a job with the casino’s owner, the powerful Ballin Mundson (George Macready).
The two form an uneasy partnership based off their mutual lack of scruples until Mundson introduces Farrell to his beautiful new wife, Gilda (Rita Hayworth), who just happens to be Farrell’s ex-lover.
