LINCOLN, Neb. — During the month of March 2026, sixteen people were killed in traffic crashes on Nebraska roadways, according to data collected by the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
- These 16 fatalities occurred in 15 fatal crashes.
- Four of the 13 vehicle occupants killed were not using seatbelts, six were using a seatbelt and three had seatbelt usage marked as unknown.
- 12 of the fatalities were in rural locations*
- There were three fatalities on the interstate, nine on other highways and four on local roads.
- One of the fatality crashes involved a train
- Two of the fatalities were motorcyclists.
- One of the fatalities was a bicyclist.
- One of the fatalities was the driver of a farm tractor.
