Dwayne Marvin Rose, 94, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2025 at home with his daughter Marlene by his side.

Dwayne was born October 5, 1930 in Belgrade, Nebraska to William Fran and Martha (Naeve) Rose.  After attending Alliance Public Schools he helped his dad farm. 

He met Grace (Carter) Rose and they were married March 28, 1951 in Scottsbluff.  Six children were born to this union.

They made their home in the Hemingford, NE area for a few years until they moved to Alliance, NE in 1954.  Then he worked for Railey, George and Bill Koozer until 1955.  He joined the army in 1955 serving until he was honorably discharged in 1958.  In 1961 the family moved to the farm south of Alliance until his retirement in 2000. 

Dwayne was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.  He served on the Mission Board, Stewardship Board and was an usher.  He was also an active volunteer with the Retired Seniors Volunteer Program.

Dwayne is survived by his children, Lucy Gressley of Alliance, Doris (Larry) Gran of Belle Fourche, SD, Nancy (Tom) Neal of Harrisburg, NE, Marlene Rose (Steve Thompson) of Alliance and Dwayne Rose, Jr. of Tacoma, WA.  He is also survived by grandchildren, Jeanne Glaze, Toby Neal, Kathleen (Cory) Johnson, Dustin Marx, Kendra Marx, Alicia (James) Hansen, Ashley Rose (Tyrel Clark) Emily (Josh) O’Handly and Jessica (Taylor) Ruzicka, his great-grandchildren, Layne, Natalie, Logan, Jayden, Tristin, Aubree, Torri, Liam, Espyn and Frankie.  He is also survived by his brother and sister-in law, Roy and Kathy Rose of Independence, MO, sister-in-law, Lois Carter of Boise, ID, brother-in-law, Jerry Lawson of Blue Springs, MO along with several nieces and nephews.

Dwayne was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Grace, their son, Marvin, his parents and in-laws, brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 7 at 10:00 a.m. at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church with Reverend Shaun Daugherty officiating.  Burial with military honors will be in the Alliance Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday from 1-7 p.m. with family present from 4-6 p.m. at the Bates-Gould Funeral Home. 

A memorial has been established in his memory at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church and School, 1024 Box Butte Avenue, P.O. Box 715, Alliance, NE  69301.
