GRAND ISLAND— Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol have arrested a Colorado minor and located two missing juveniles during a traffic stop on Interstate 80 near York.
At approximately 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, a trooper observed a Chevrolet Colorado pickup driving with a headlight out on eastbound I-80 at mile marker 347. The trooper performed a traffic stop.
During the traffic stop, the trooper discovered that the license plates on the vehicle belonged to a different vehicle and that the pickup had been reported stolen from Colorado. The driver was taken into custody. Troopers located two juveniles in the pickup as well. The 17-year-old male and 12-year-old female had both been reported missing from Colorado. Troopers discovered that the driver was in violation of a protection order against one of the passengers.
The driver, an 18-year-old male, was taken into custody for theft by unlawful taking $5,000+, kidnapping, violating a protection order, possession of an open alcohol container, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstructing a peace officer, and other charges. He was lodged in York County jail.
