On March 11 at approximately 9 a.m. the Dawes County Sheriff's Office and EMS personnel were called to the Crawford Elementary School for a rescue call to 55-year-old Diane Reynoldson.

Reynoldson was working at the school during spring break. She wasn't responding to phone calls.

A concerned family member went to the school and found her on the floor. Reynoldson was unresponsive.

EMS transported her to Chadron Community Hospital and was unable to revive her.

"After a review of the scene and witness interviews including medical personnel, the preliminary investigation does not indicate foul play," Dawes County Attorney/Coroner Vance Haug said. "An autopsy and toxicological screening have been ordered to assist in determining the specific cause of death."
