A resolution to move plans forward with improving downtown Alliance was accepted Tuesday at the Alliance City Council meeting. Rich Otto of Edward Jones Investments is helping lead the project and comments on efforts to by the city to improve downtown.
"The downtown area is a strong area right now, but making it better for the whole community and making sure it's a place people want to do business with," Otto said.
With the resolution on Tuesday to accept an outline to reestablish the district what is called “BID A-3" Alliance City Manager Seth Sorensen explains what are the next steps in the process.
"The committee that was appointed Tuesday will be meeting and making recommendations to the City Council as to how this BID should be formed," Sorensen said. "They're looking at a special assessment and how it will be collected, and how the funds will be utilized if approved."
Sorensen says that there will be multiple readings for this item and that the hope is to have it in place before October.
