LINCOLN, Neb. – Malin Choneska, 47-years-old, died Sept. 13, 2025, at a Lincoln hospital. He was incarcerated at the Reception and Treatment Center
Choneska’s sentence began on May 23, 2025. He was serving zero to one year out of Douglas County for third offense aggravated driving under the influence.
While the cause of death has not yet been determined, Choneska was being treated for a medical condition. As is the case whenever an inmate dies in the custody of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS), a grand jury will conduct an investigation.
