KCOW Radio is bringing back the spooky sounds and classic entertainment of Halloween with an encore presentation of the 2026 KCOW Halloween Special, airing tonight at 8:00pm and Saturday, Oct. 31, at 10 a.m. on KCOW 1400 AM and 92.5 FM.
The locally produced Halloween special, written, edited and directed by Jason Wentworth, takes listeners back to a time when radio was a centerpiece of family entertainment, bringing stories, laughter and a little suspense into homes across America.
The program features a collection of classic radio entertainment,featuring vintage radio stars like Orson Welles, Agnes Moorehead, Jack Benny, and more--plus an original scary story, "The Phantom of the Lanes." Listeners will also hear from Bob S. Bestos, his pets Hot Dog and Ranchy, Dangerous Dave, Wenty and over a dozen surprise guest stars..
It's a Halloween treat that doesn't require a costume, a candy bucket or even leaving the house! Whether you're enjoying a big Saturday morning breakfast, sipping coffee in your favorite chair or simply looking for a little old-fashioned entertainment, KCOW invites listeners to turn back the clock and experience the magic of radio.
The Halloween special is scheduled to air Friday, Oct. 30, at 8 p.m., with the encore presentation scheduled for Halloween morning.
