Jarod Patrick Johnston (1977 - 2020)

Jarod Patrick Johnston passed unexpectedly from this earth on Friday, December 11, 2020 in Cheyenne, WY, from complications from a heart attack.  His family was with him in spirit due to COVID restrictions.

Jarod was born April 4, 1977 in Alliance to Terry and Connie (Rusk) Johnston.  He grew up on a ranch North of Antioch, attending school there through 8th grade.  He then attended Alliance High School, graduating with the class of 1995.  He participated in FFA, and wrestling and fostered many lifelong friendships at AHS.  The majority of his high school time he could be found with his love, Melanie.  Jacob was born in 1995, bringing this couple to three.  In 1997 Jarod and Melanie Parascand were married.  Morgan completed their family in 1998.

In 2005 he began his career at BNSF as a conductor.  In August of 2006 he became an engineer.

He enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, target shooting and hunting.  He loved to tinker on everything from his lawn equipment to his buildings.  He was diligent in researching every project before he started.  That knowledge helped him with remodeling projects in their first and second homes, did auto body  and general vehicle repair.    He took so much pride in his family, home and property.

He is survived by wife, Melanie, son Jacob, daughter Morgan, and his four legged companions Layla and Stella, parents Terry and Connie, brothers Brian (Trish), Kevin (Bridget) Mother-in-law Donna Parascand, Brother-in-laws Mike (Kenley), Mitch (Nikki) sister-in-law Michelle (Gianni) Barrette and numerous special nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Jarod was preceded in death by grandparents, brother-in-laws and father-in-law.

Memorials may be sent to Jane’s Closet or the Highland Park Memory Support Unit.

Memorial services will be Friday, December 18, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.  Father Tim Stoner will officiate.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Requesting masks be worn, if not feeling well please honor the family by staying home.
