ALLIANCE, Neb. - There’s a lot going on in our adult activities at the Alliance Public Library as we enter the last two weeks of the month of May.
Craft club meets Wednesday, the 20 from 10 to 11:30. Bring your craft project and enjoy a cup of coffee and share ideas and conversation creating alongside fellow crafters.

True Crime Book club will be discussing the Furious Hours: Murder, Fraud, and the Last Trial of Harper Lee by the author Casey Cep Thursday, May 21 at 5:30. Be a part of the discussion of this fascinating non-fiction work that combines true crime, legal drama, and literary biography chronicling a 1970s Alabama serial killer and the acclaimed author Harper Lee, the international best-selling author of To Kill a Mockingbird, and her coverage of this notorious trial.
The APL book club meets on the fourth Tuesday every month. This month the group is reading the Canary Girls, a novel based on historical events about the women who worked in ammunition assembly depots during the first world war. We would love to have you join us May 26 at 1 p.m. You can obtain the monthly book club selections at the front desk available for check out.
We have some informative speakers lined up for this month’s garden club. Be a part of an educational event ‘Why can’t we be friends’ a program on companion planting in the garden on May 14 and then on May 28 attend a special presentation by the UNL extension education service. Garden club meets from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Library events are held in the community room. There is no cost to attend library clubs and you do not need to register. Adult events are open to those 18 and older.
