Funeral services for Faye Una Chrisman, age 88, of rural Melbeta, Nebraska will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 7, at United Methodist Church in Melbeta, Nebraska. Pastors Richard Chrisman and Francis Kinyua will officiate with burial in Creighton Valley Cemetery, south of Melbeta.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Dugan Kramer Funeral Home in Scottsbluff. Online condolences for the family may be left at www.dugankramer.com.
Faye died Saturday, December 3, 2022, at her home after a short illness.
Faye Una Chrisman, daughter of Lester and Ruth (Luedtke) Zimmerman was born July 20, 1934, in Valley County, Nebraska. She was united in marriage to Pat (Norval) Chrisman on December 31, 1949. They were blessed with seven children: Mike, Lillian, Bert, Dick, Susie, Mark, and Chris.
In 1966 Pat and Faye made their home southeast of Melbeta where she helped her husband on the farm and was kept busy raising seven rambunctious children. Faye was a member of the United Methodist Churches in Melbeta and Gering. She loved to cook, was an avid sewer and quilter, and loved to play cards with friends. Most of all, she loved holiday parties with her extended family.
Faye is survived by a sister, Ellen Lake of Omaha; seven children, Mike (Janice) Chrisman of McGrew, Lillian Butts of Terrytown, Albert (Jenette) Chrisman of Pennsylvania, Richard (Christine) Chrisman if Norfolk, Susie (David) Thiele of Colorado, Mark (Becky) Chrisman of Gering, and Chris (Thess) Chrisman of rural Melbeta; 16 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pat; parents, Lester and Ruth; sisters Marlyn and Wilma; and brother, Gordon.
