On June 17 at approximately 10:39 p.m. Chadron Police Officers were dispatched to a disturbance on the 100 block of North Mears Street.

A witness reported seeing a damaged vehicle leaving the area of the disturbance. The witness followed the vehicle while contacting the dispatch center.

The dispatch center received several more calls from residents reporting the vehicle had struck a residential property as well as two parked vehicles and a fence.

"Officers arrived on scene and confirmed the reports of property damage and vehicle damage," Chadron Police Chief Richard Hickstein said. "Officers were able to use the information from the witness that called and was following the vehicle along with locating...and following a trail of vehicle fluids from the accident scene to locate the suspect vehicle and the driver on Norfolk Avenue."

Sgt. Wallage arrested 31 year-old Nona J. Warrior of Chadron.

Warrior was placed under arrest for fourth offense DUI alcohol (Class IIA Felony), Felony DUI while driving with a revoked license (Class IV Felony) and Criminal Mischief (Class I Misdemeanor).

Warrior was transported to the Dawes County Jail. Bond was set at 10% of $25,000.

Warrior was also arrested and held on an outstanding Pennington County South Dakota warrant with no bond for a probation revocation for drug related offenses.

"Several thousand dollars in damage is estimated to the three vehicles, fence and residential property hit by Warrior," Hickstein said. "The accident investigation continues and more charges may be pending as a result."

The Chadron Police Department was assisted by Dawes County Sheriff’s Office.
