CHADRON, Neb. - On Monday, Nov. 24, 2025, Sgt. Chelsey Stolley and Officer Christina Hanson were called to a residence in Chadron to remove a female who was intoxicated and causing a disturbance. On arrival at the residence., Sgt. Stolley and Officer Hanson located 40-year-old Stephanie Catches screaming loudly and rolling around on the porch of the residence.
The reporting party advised Sgt. Stolley and Officer Hanson that Stephanie had became drunk and become violent and wanted Catches removed from the property. Sgt. Stolley gave Catches numerous commands to leave the property and Catches refused, resulting with the officers placing Catches under arrest for 2nd Degree Trespassing, a Class III Misdemeanor.
Catches was then transported to the Chadron Community Hospital, for medical clearance for admittance to the Dawes County Jail. While in the emergency room, Catches continued to yell and scream and kicked at Sgt. Stolley striking Sgt. Stolley in the head. As a result, Catches additionally was charged with Assault on an Officer, Class II Felony.
After medical clearance was obtained, Catches was transported to the Dawes County Jail for further processing and lodging. Bond was set at 10 percent of $30,000.
