Virginia 'Jinny' Shoemaker, 72, of Alliance, Nebraska died Sunday, May 29, 2022, at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 7th at 10:00 a.m. at Bates-Gould Chapel in Alliance with Reverend Tim Stadem officiating. Burial will be in the Alliance Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be Monday, June 6, from 1-7 p.m. The family would prefer memorials be given to the Alliance Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. with the funds being designated towards the Fire Training Facility Project in lieu of flowers. Virginia was born on July 4, 1949, in Syracuse, Kansas. She was the daughter of Gerald (Jerry) and Norma Todd. She graduated from Alliance High School in 1968. On June 28, 1970, Virginia was united in marriage to the love of her life Freddie “Fred” Shoemaker. Together they had three boys; Troy, Travis and Trenton. Jinny was a member of the Alliance Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary where she served as President in 1985 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary.
Jinny loved crocheting and spent endless hours making gifts for her family and friends. Jinny loved her grandkids and enjoyed every moment she could get with them. Grandma was a judgement free zone and loved each and every one of them unconditionally. They were her greatest blessing.
Jinny is survived by her sons, Troy (Laura) Shoemaker of Alliance, NE; Travis (Kristy), Shoemaker of Alliance, NE; and Trenton (Amanda) of Leander, TX; her grandchildren, Brooke Shoemaker, Hannah (T.J.) Aanenson, Keaton Shoemaker, Janaye Shoemaker, Kadin Shoemaker, Mason Shoemaker, and Madison Shoemaker along with her great-grandson, Noah. She is also survived by her sisters, Beverly Yeager and Marla (Fred) Kober. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
Jinny was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Shoemaker, her parents, Jerry & Norma Todd, her sister, Karen Todd and her grandson, Dylan Shoemaker.
