ALLIANCE, Neb. — On April 9, 2026, at approximately 2 p.m., the Alliance Police Department, in coordination with the Box Butte County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant at a residence located at 507 Black Hills Avenue following an investigation into a suspected illegal drug operation involving marijuana and hallucinogenic substances.
The search warrant was obtained after an anonymous tip was received and subsequently corroborated through police investigation.
During the execution of the warrant, officers deployed a drone to assist with situational awareness and officer safety. Multiple units responded to the scene and secured the residence without incident.
Inside the home, officers located evidence consistent with the cultivation, processing and distribution of marijuana products. Items recovered included large quantities of marijuana buds, marijuana seeds, THC oil, hashish and a small quantity of mushroom gummies. Officers also located two marijuana grow setups within a constructed grow room, along with equipment used for harvesting and processing marijuana.
Additionally, officers seized numerous drug paraphernalia items, including bongs, pipes and THC vape pens, as well as molds and equipment used in the production of THC-infused edibles. A shotgun was also recovered during the search. The total seized marijuana bud weight was approximately one-half pound plus an additional 2.18 ounces. Hashish seized totaled approximately 53.5 grams (1.88 ounces) and THC oil weighed approximately 294.5 grams (10.38 ounces).
The residence is located in close proximity to an elementary school, raising additional concerns about the presence of illegal drug activity in a neighborhood with children. As a result of the investigation, Caullin Reed (DOB: July 26, 2001) was arrested and transported to the Box Butte County Jail.
Reed is being charged with the following offenses:
- Child Abuse (NE § 28-707)
- Manufacture/Distribution/Possession of an Exceptionally Hazardous Drug (NE § 28-416)
- No Drug Tax Stamp (NE § 77-4309)
- Possession of a Deadly Weapon During Commission of a Felony (NE § 28-1205)

- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (NE § 28-441)
- Manufacture/Delivery/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (NE § 28-442)
- Unlawful Acts Relating to Controlled Substances (NE § 28-417)
“This case highlights the continued efforts of our officers and our law enforcement partners to address illegal drug activity in our community,” said Chief David Leavitt. “Operations involving the manufacturing and distribution of controlled substances, particularly in residential areas and near schools, present significant risks to public safety. We remain committed to aggressively investigating and holding accountable those involved in these activities.”
This remains an ongoing investigation. Additional charges may be filed.
This case remains under investigation. The Alliance Police Department reminds the public that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
