Bill C Engstrom, 78 of Scottsbluff, Nebraska passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Monument Rehabilitation and Care Center.
His memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 10:00 am at St John’s Lutheran Church in Scottsbluff with Pastor Jeffrey Grams officiating. Inurnment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. At his request, cremation has taken place and there will be no viewing. Memorials can be given to Alzheimer’s Association. Bill was born on September 16, 1945 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Gus and Mollie (Schwartz) Engstrom. He graduated from Scottsbluff High School. He attended and graduated from Denver University with a degree in CPA.
He and his brother Tom operated the Engstrom Fertilizer Company for many years.
Bill married Harlean Yekel on November 29, 1985 and made their home in Morrill, later moving to Scottsbluff.
The couple owned and operated the Grace Shop in Scottsbluff for a number of years. They moved to Rapid City, South Dakota and operated Padgett Services for many years. They retired in the Phoenix area.
Bill enjoyed flying is airplane in the valley area. He loved to camp and fish at Lake McConaughy in Ogallala, Nebraska. He was an avid Husker fan.
Bill loved to help people and had a huge heart for them.
Survivors include his son Russell Engstrom, uncle Bob (Myla) Schwartz, aunt Dorothy Sticker, sister-in-law JoAnn Engstrom and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, wife Harlean (June 2018), brothers Tom Engstrom and John (Ann) Engstrom and infant sister Nancy.
