UPDATE: Major Winter Storm to move into Panhandle

A high-impact winter storm will move through southeast Wyoming and western Nebraska on Monday through Tuesday night. Extreme impacts are expected, especially in east central Wyoming through northwest Nebraska! Some uncertainty remains in snow totals over far southeast WY and southwest NE, where a sharp cutoff in snow totals may occur from north to south

WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM MONDAY TO 6 PM MDT WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow and near-blizzard conditions expected. Total snow accumulations of 12 to 24 inches. Higher snow totals expected along and near the Pine Ridge. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph.

* WHERE...In Nebraska, Dawes, Box Butte, and Sioux County. In Wyoming, Goshen and Niobrara County. This includes Chadron, Lusk, Harrison, Alliance, and Torrington.

* WHEN...From 6 AM Monday to 6 PM MDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Conditions may warrant an upgrade to Blizzard Warning with future updates.
