CHADRON, Neb. – The Upper Niobrara White Natural Resources District (NRD) will host its annual Range Day on Jan. 14, 2025, at Chadron State College's Student Center Ballroom. The event, supported by the Bill and Virginia Coffee Family Foundation, aims to bring together agricultural experts, ranchers, and conservationists for a day of education and networking.
The day begins at 8:30 a.m. with coffee and donuts, sponsored by Cogdill Feeds. Sessions will include a variety of topics such as generational transition planning, winter grazing strategies, and grass finishing techniques. Speakers include Pamela Olsen of Pamela Epp Olsen Law, Jerry D. Volesky from UNL Extension, and Carrie Balkcom of the American Grassfed Association.
At 12:15 p.m., attendees will enjoy a lunch and conservation awards ceremony, provided by the Bill and Virginia Coffee Family Foundation. The afternoon will feature presentations on pasture ground carbon credits by Sara Cover and a weather outlook by Don Day Jr. of Day Weather.
