The Secretary of State’s office announced today that all vote counting machines in each of Nebraska’s 93 counties have successfully passed logic and accuracy tests ahead of the primary election on May 12, 2026. Each county’s chief election official submitted a signed certification that three independent tests had been conducted on each device in accordance with Neb. Rev. Stat. §32-1044.

“Logic and accuracy testing has concluded, and we’re pleased to announce that the devices are ready to begin counting official primary ballots next week,” said Secretary Evnen. “But our work verifying the security and accuracy of the 2026 primary election is far from over. County election offices across the state are currently accepting early voting ballots and finalizing preparations for Election Day. Then, after the election, we’ll perform hand-count audits for random precincts to ensure everything is accurate.”
