Alliance, NE – The Knight Museum & Sandhills Center will be closed at 5:00pm on Friday, June 16th due to the Highway #2 Cemetery Tour.
The Knight Museum invites you to join them for a Highway 2 Cemetery Tour. On Friday, June 16th we will meet at the Knight Museum, 908 Yellowstone Ave, at 9 a.m. and carpool to Antioch where Becky Herian will give an overview of the Potash industry and then on to Lakeside to the Ode Black Cemetery. From there we will head to the St Bernard’s Cemetery in Ellsworth and the Bingham Cemetery. We will go next to Ashby, then to Hyannis and finish our day at Whitman. There are so many interesting stories in these historic towns which will make this a fun filled day. Several local people will be joining us with their insights about their communities. Bring a lunch and be part of the fun. RSVPs are helpful for a headcount but not necessary. Muck boots might come in handy, but not necessary. Some of the cemeteries are a little ‘wild’.
