The Alliance Police Department is releasing the following information regarding a domestic violence investigation that occurred on June 11, 2026.

At approximately 3:15 p.m., Alliance Police officers were contacted by a female victim at KC's gas station who reported she had been physically assaulted by her boyfriend. Officers and EMS responded to the scene, where the victim was found to have significant injuries, including a suspected dislocated shoulder, head injuries, bruising, and other visible signs of assault. The victim was transported to Box Butte General Hospital for treatment.

The ensuing investigation revealed the assault had occurred earlier in the day at a residence in Alliance. During interviews, the victim reported she had been repeatedly punched, kicked, thrown to the ground, and threatened with a knife. The victim further reported the suspect placed the tip of the knife against her back and made threats toward her during the assault.

Investigators learned the assault was allegedly motivated, in part, by the victim's cooperation in an ongoing child abuse investigation involving the victim's child. During the assault, the suspect allegedly made statements blaming the victim for the criminal charges he is currently facing in that case and threatened her for her involvement.

Officers later received additional information regarding an active shoplifting incident at Maverik. Surveillance footage identified the suspect as the individual involved in the domestic assault investigation. Officers subsequently located the suspect and took him into custody without incident.

As a result of the investigation, Tuffy Conroy, M/N DOB 09/13/2007, of Alliance, was arrested and booked into the Box Butte County Jail on the following charges:

 Terroristic Threats

 Use of a Deadly Weapon to Commit a Felony

 Tampering with a Witness/Informant/Juror

 Theft by Shoplifting ($0-$500)

 Domestic Assault, 3rd Degree Causing Bodily Injury

 Minor in Possession of Alcohol

The Alliance Police Department would like to thank Alliance EMS personnel for their assistance and the witnesses who provided information during the investigation.

Domestic violence remains a serious crime that often escalates over time. The Alliance Police Department encourages victims and witnesses of domestic violence to report incidents immediately so that intervention and assistance can be provided.

All persons arrested are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
