Scottsbluff police to partcipate in 'And Then It Clicked' enforcement campaign

Scottsbluff, Nebraska- The Scottsbluff Police Department is partnering with the Nebraska Department of Highway Safety Office to participate in the national “And Then It Clicked” seat belt and child safety seat enforcement campaign.

Scottsbluff Police Officers will work overtime, funded by the Highway Safety office, from May 20th to June 2nd to look for seat belt and child safety seat violations.

The national seat belt usage rate in 2023 was 91.9%.

The Nebraska seat belt usage rate in 2023 was 77.3% on May 14th a seat belt survey was conducted in Scottsbluff and the seat belt usage rate was 50.75%. Scottsbluff Police will be working to improve this number.
