A new wildfire, the Log Road fire, has ignited on private property north of the South Fork Fire burn area. It is northwest of Crawford and 15 miles northeast of Harrison. As of Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. it is 1,164 acres, according to the Watch Duty app.
Initial attack efforts are underway with local volunteer fire departments and federal resources supported by a fixed‑wing observational aircraft providing guidance to crews on the ground. The state has organized a type 3 incident management team and heavy air tanker support to arrive today.
The area is currently under a Red Flag Warning until 9 PM on Tuesday, June 30. Wind gusts are ranged from 50 to 60 miles per hour on Monday.
Overnight humidity recovery was low. Today’s forecast calls for reduced wind speeds, with gusts between 20 and 30 miles per hour.
