
Kenneth G. Hennings of Hemingford passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026 at Box Butte General Hospital. He was 75.
He was born in Alliance to Raymond D. and Lillie E. (Reed) Hennings of Hemingford. Kenny graduated from Hemingford High School in 1969 and the Curtis Technical School in 1971.
On July 3, 1971 he was united in marriage to Barbara Sue Carey in Torrington, WY.
Kenny was engaged in farming on the family farm for 25 years. He then worked in the maintenance department of Good Samaritan Village in Alliance for 9 years. In his earlier years he was active in the Hemingford Jaycees and was a JCI Senator. For 35 years he was a hunter safety instructor and served as a Master Instructor for that program for the last 10 of those years.
He is survived by his wife, Sue, his grandson, Nathaniel Kevin Bauer of Kearney, NE and his brothers, Gary (Lelo) Hennings of Severance, CO and John (Carol) Hennings of Bridgeport along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his infant sons, Terry Ray Hennings in 1972 and Tracy Lee Hennings in 1976 and his daughter, Mary Lynn Bauer in 1993 and also by his parents.
Memorial services will be Saturday, July 25 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hemingford Congregational Church. Interment will be in the Hemingford Cemetery. In honor of Ken’s favorite color being blue, casual attire in that color is requested. Memorials may be given to Bobcats Beating Cancer.
