ALLIANCE, Neb. — The clock is ticking for aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners to submit their big idea for a chance to win up to $10,000 in startup funding. The application deadline for the Big Idea Box Butte County competition is Friday, Aug. 8, and organizers say more entries are needed.

Sponsored by the Box Butte Development Corporation in partnership with Eagle Media, the Schmidt Foundation and the Hemingford Community Foundation, the Big Idea event is a local business pitch competition aimed at encouraging innovation, entrepreneurship and economic growth in the Box Butte region.

“This is a unique opportunity for anyone with a great business concept to gain not only funding, but also mentorship and community support,” said Hannah Robinson, executive director of Box Butte Development Corporation. “We want to hear your ideas—big or small—and help you bring them to life.”

Finalists will be selected from the pool of entries and invited to present their ideas during a live pitch night this fall. Winners will receive grant funding of up to $10,000 along with access to business development resources and local networking opportunities.
