Fatal accident in Scottsbluff on Saturday night

A Colorado man was killed in a motorcycle accident in Scottsbluff on Saturday night. Scottsbluff Sheriff's Department reports that they were dispatched to 23rd St. and Broadway at 9:42 p.m. 

The investigation uncovered that a white 2008 Mazda driven by 23 year-old Angelina Palomo of Scottsbluff, was driving southbound in the 2300 block of Broadway, when she made a left turn at the intersection of 23rd st and Broadway.  She then  collided with an orange 2010 Honda CBR1000 driven by 43 year-old Levi Queen of Loveland, CO.

Queen was transported to Regional West Medical Center by Valley Ambulance where he later passed away due to his injuries.

Authorities say that witnesses to the accident reported the Honda was traveling at an estimated speed of over 60 mph in the 30 mph zone at the time of impact, and that speed and helmet use are be being investigated as factors in the accident. Palomo was issued a citation for Driving Under Suspension.

Both vehicles were total losses in the accident.  Scotts Bluff Sheriff's Department, Valley Ambulance and Scottsbluff Fire Department assisted in the call.
