LINCOLN, Neb. – On Monday, Governor Jim Pillen will announce his appointment for associate justice to the Nebraska Supreme Court. The news conference will be held in the Governor’s Hearing Rom at 12:30 p.m.
The Nebraska Supreme Court consists of the chief justice and six associate justices. The chief justice represents the state at large, while each associate represents his/her judicial district.
The current vacancy results from the retirement of Justice Lindsey Miller-Lerman, who retired Oct. 31 after 33 years of service. She represented the Second Judicial District, which includes Douglas County.
