Christine Ann Wright of Torrington, WY, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026, a few weeks before her 74th birthday. Born September 2, 1952 in Columbus, NE to Martin and Lenore (Hervert) Caffrey. She was a cherished wife, sister, aunt, friend and a respected member of her western community.
Chris graduated from North Platte High 1970, earned an Associate’s degree, then served the Burlington Northern Railroad for 35 years of dedicated service. From office duties, taxiing crews to trains, and scrambling up scaffolding to offload oil tanker cars, Chris showed the same true grit that her family displayed since the 1800s, Irish & Czech immigrants who built a nation. Chris loved spending time with all her nieces and nephews, long drives across the Sandhills were common. She also enjoyed the company of true friends-whether it be fishing, reliving school days, pulling slots in Deadwood, walking a beach in the Bahamas, or just enjoying a good meal at Lira’s. A friend to all, Chris was blessed by family & friends all the years of her life.
She is survived by her husband, Donald (Ringy) Wright, and siblings, Mary Jo(Dody), Martin, Patrick, and Thomas. Chris was preceded in death by her parents, Joe & Lenore Caffrey, of North Platte, NE and grandparents, Adolph & Mollie Hervert of Ravenna and Martin & Catherine Caffrey of Grand Island, NE.
Internment shall be at Highland Park Cemetery in Ravenna, NE.
In lieu of flowers, perhaps donations to St Jude Children’s Hospital or Guiding Eyes for the Blind would be nice. Like St Francis, Chris loved all animals & nature, and yes, Chris loved You. Thanks for being her Friend.
