ALLIANCE, Neb. - The unofficial results of Tuesday night's Nebraska statewide primary elections were announced just after 10 p.m. MT for Box Butte county.

According to the unofficial results Tuesday night, 1,280 ballots were cast for a total of 18.79 percent of the Box Butte County population of registered voters.

One of the significant local elections was for the republican candidate for clerk of the district court. Molly Ridgeway won over Brett Kelly.

In more statewide races, Pete Ricketts took 765 of the 947 total ballots for Republican US Senator 6 YR, and Jim Pillen took 671 of the 935 Republican Governor votes in Box Butte County.

On the Democrat side, Cindy Burbank received 191 of the 224 total ballots for Democratic US Senator 6 YR, while Lynn Walz received 199 votes to lead the way for the Democratic Governor nomination.

Randall Hitchcock and Scott Yates were the two top voted candidates under Alliance City Council City on the Box Butte ballot.
